Now I don't usually upload pics from Garry's Mod, but I think this one turned out nice enough to be uploaded. Both of the characters, and the weapon are from a game called Killing Floor, and the environment is from Half-life 2.
guys imagine having struggle moments with the specimines like for instance a scrave bares it chainsaw down and you block it with your katana or axe now you have to tap your "E" key rapifly to throw the scrakeoff balance and potentialy kill it
now FlshPnd's im not so sure o_O i dont think they need a meelee grip thing like what i just described that is unless they somehow go the ability to use the blades that tip a fleshpounds drill maces like hands pick up/stab a player and slam him down on the ground
clots could just be the grab you and start nomming you neck
bloadt could be like dead sapce 2 puker scene it grabs you and vomits on you and eventually knocks yout gasmask/riot faceguard then it spews right on your race and gets a little in your mouth and down your throat hurls again get even more this time player falls to the ground puked up acidic vomit and dies
Scrakes got a really high resistance to everything except melee weapons, it feels like. To show the player that they are weak to melee, they get stunned from power attacks. Experienced berserkers are a blessing.
Now why would they be more resistant to blade damage? They are super-medics, supposed to treat wounds effectively on the field. And on the field, who on the right mind would charge at such sight like Scrake with blade first?
Well, mostly because they would learn how to heal wounds by inflicting them on themselves. At least that's what it says in the background info, and for someone with a chainsaw for an arm I would think that self inflicted lacerations would be the most common injuries they would encounter. And as for who would charge a Scrake with a blade? I would. Like I said, I've killed Scrakes in two hits with an axe/katana even without the Berserker perk.
I mean in real life on the field. During firefights. And, they didn't originally have flippin' chainsaws as their arm, just like gorefasts didn't have blades attached to their arms. I mean, it'd be much more useful to have resistance to explosions (grenades, artillery shells, tank shells) than have resistance to blades (combat knives, bayonets).
